NHS PPEbay | An update

In yesterdays blog I suggested that the new centralised system to provide PPE to care homes was run by a company called Clipper.

The actual system that the Department of Health and Social Care has set up is run by Ebay. Clipper are the logistics partner who are distributing the equipment to all non-acute health and social care organisations, along with the Army.

The first deliveries through this system were meant to ship on the 6th April, however the majority of organisations still can’t access PPE through this root; only 1,400 out of 58,000 non-acute health and social care organisations are currently receiving deliveries of PPE through this route.

If a junior management trainee messed up this badly they would have been sacked. But the Government blunders on, making mistake after mistake with apparently no consquences.
